However, the course didn’t satiate her desire to create stories, and after a year of studying, Julia decided to move to Manchester to study Film Production. During the covid-19 pandemic, Julia moved back to Hong Kong whilst continuing to study full-time albiet, remotely and gained an intership at Passion Entertainment as a Production Assistant for just over a year.

Julia moved back to Manchester to finish her final year of her undergraduate degree in Film Production and wrote, directed and was the director of photography for ‘Heart’ 2022. The film was awarded Best Storytelling and achieved the highest marks in the year as well as winning a handful awards at various film festivals around the UK. She was also awarded Best Student (Runner-Up) for her academic achievements and creative ability.

Since returning to the UK, she has worked as a Spark, 2nd AC and Grip in various short films.
